During her time at DE-CONSTRUKT Ilaria is working on a portrait project called “Baby If You Give It To Me” taken from a 90’s pop song from Busta Rhymes and Mariah Carey. Using Instagram as a contemporary method, Ilaria is collecting 10-second videos as way to capture the essence of the women she meets for a series of abstract portraits inspired by the constant desire with social media to curate our lives and share limitless content. These portraits are quick expressions of the human form, deconstructing the human figure to capture quick impressions in their face and body in an abstract painterly way.

These 10-second Instagram videos are collaged together with Ilaria’s impressions of the city surroundings and the people she has encountered. This video component then becomes part of the body of work and is projected as an artwork with her portraits.
